Director, Camp Icaghowan, YMCA Greater Twin Cities
Michel Tigan is the executive director of YMCA Camp Icaghowan, a resident overnight camp within the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities, a leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Michel has over 16 years of nonprofit executive experience; leading teams, volunteers, donors, and communities around vision and mission. She holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA in Nonprofit Business Management from the University of St. Thomas. Michel has 17 years of nonprofit board experience and has lead organizations through SWOT analysis, capital campaigns, strategic plans and visioning sessions.
Michel is also a Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Instructor, a DONA Birth Doula, and a 16 year Hudson Daybreak Rotarian, serving in various roles both on and off the board. Michel is a passionate volunteer in her community, she enjoys travel and though she is a lifelong resident of Hudson, she has lived as far away as France and even the coast of Maine. Michel spends her time camping, canoeing, indulging in great music and interesting podcasts with her husband Matt, and their three children and black lab River.
